How accurate is the CWC Forecast?
Construction Aggregate forecast
The CWC Construction Aggregate Forecast Model includes housing, construction, and population variables to predict aggregate production. The CWC model results predict aggregate production at 98% accuracy when compared to data reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The advantage of the CWC model is it provides up-to-date estimates & offers a tool for more accurate forecasting for mineral materials businesses. Additionally, it overcomes the significant delays in reporting from USGS and the California Geological Survey (CGS).
Concrete forecast
The CWC Concrete Forecast Model utilizes construction aggregate production, housing, and construction of concrete buildings as variables to predict concrete production. The CWC model results predict concrete production at 98% accuracy when compared to data reported by the National Ready Mix Concrete Association (NRMCA).
Asphalt forecast
The CWC Asphalt Forecast Model utilizes construction aggregate production, and construction of roads as variables to predict asphalt production. The CWC model results predict asphalt production at 83% accuracy when compared to data reported by the California Asphalt Pavement Association (CalAPA).
